Did you know Dr Kim Naylor is not only a pelvic floor therapist, but is also trained in Medical Therapeutic Yoga and Lifestyle Medicine? She loves to integrate these approaches into her PT and wellness care plans. Combining the physical aspects of movement and manual therapy with nutrition, stress management, and sleep hygiene promotes whole health that has longer lasting and more widespread results. She loves getting real nerdy talking about breathwork, polyvagal theory and how the nervous system rules!
How did she get into pelvic health?
Oftentimes, providers become interested in a specialty when they need it themselves! After a childhood of gymnastics, hypermobility, an active lifestyle of yoga and strength training, and then having 3 kids, it was time to take care of her own pelvic health! Learning more about this part of the body made her want to share the good news with others. And guess what she discovered....pelvic health PT really does absolutely work! And she still gets to work 1:1 with her patients.
Does she have any other secrets?
She is also a lifelong learner of all things lifestyle medicine (think sleep, hormones, nutrition, nervous system regulation, and fitness). She is also an author of children's travel books (check out the Ham and Chicken travel series on Amazon).
